How did your organization get started?

A group of citizens started the organization in 1956 wanting better treatment of homeless animals.

What is your mission?

Leading, advocating, and educating for animal welfare.

How do most of your animals find their way to you?

Rescues and cruelty cases.

What happens to the animals once they are in your care?

They are cared for and put up for adoption at various shelters or rescues.

Tell us about a particularly compelling animal or inspiring rescue.

The MCHA rescued over 100 dogs from a hoarding situation where all the dogs were living in a trailer with two individuals.
